Eleanor Marks is a Certified High-Conflict Divorce Coach who helps individuals untangle themselves from toxic, emotionally abusive marriages with clarity, confidence, and strategy.
She works with men and women at every stage of the process: those quietly Googling “Is this abuse?” at 2 a.m., questioning their relationship, those ready to create a grounded exit plan, and those already divorcing or parallel parenting with an emotionally abusive partner who does not fight fair, play nice, or follow the rules. Many clients come to her after years of trying to reason with the unreasonable, finally accepting what they’ve long suspected: this isn’t going to get better, and staying is slowly dismantling their mental health and sense of self.
Eleanor’s work is deeply personal. As a survivor of a high-conflict divorce, she has lived the realities her clients fear most—smear campaigns, financial manipulation, loss of family support, and the disorienting effects of gaslighting. She also understands the struggles of dealing with social and legal systems that fail to recognize an abuse that leaves no visible bruises. This lived experience, paired with professional training, allows her to meet clients exactly where they are, even when they feel overwhelmed, unsure of their own reality, and convinced they’re “going crazy.”
Eleanor understands how narcissistic and high-conflict personalities operate—and how they weaponize both people and legal systems. She helps clients find the right legal team, organize documentation, draft effective communication to high-conflict partners, and create stronger divorce decrees and parenting plans that protect their future and reduce unnecessary legal costs. Clients learn how to respond to chaos without being pulled into it, make decisions from a place of clarity rather than fear, and move forward into a life that feels steady and empowered.
Eleanor is proud to be part of Vesta Divorce, an organization that helped her survive her own divorce and now allows her to support others alongside the knowledgeable Chicago Hub Team. She has worked with hundreds of clients worldwide. She serves as Head Moderator for the Covert Narcissist Group (CNG) and Divorcing a Covert Narcissist Facebook communities, founded by Renee Swanson, with over 80,000 members combined. In addition to private coaching, she offers support groups and in-person retreats. She holds advanced training in trauma-informed care, telehealth, and narcissistic abuse, including Dr. Ramani Durvasula’s course: Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician Training. Clients often report feeling deeply understood, grounded, and more capable after even a single session.
